1) Symposium of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese (CACSEC)

th, 2004, the 6
th Symposium of CACSEC, celebrating the 10 years anniversary of the establishment of CASEC was sponsored by the Association and co-sponsored by the Center for Linguistic, Literary & Cultural Studies of SISU with the presence of about 160 experts and scholars from many famous universities and publishing houses, e.g. Massachusetts State University, Beijing University, editorial of Foreign Languages in China, and China Translation and Publishing Corporation. The theme of the Symposium is
Inheriting, Reference and Innovation with a submission of 150 papers discussing the issue of inheriting and reference in such fields as comparative linguistics, comparative culture studies, translation studies, comparative studies of English and Chinese texts and translation of Chinese classics to English.
2) Contemporary Linguistics Symposium

rd and 5
th, 2004, the 10
th China Contemporary Linguistics Symposium ceremoniously opened in SISU with the presence of over 200 experts and scholars (of which 161 are formal members) from about 70 universities and scientific research institutes. The Symposium, co-sponsored by the Center for Linguistic Studies of SISU is the first one of its kind in the new century.
3) 5th Annual Meeting of China British Literature Association

th, 2005, the 5
th Annual Meeting of British Literature Association was held in SISU with the presence of over 140 experts and scholars from about 70 universities and scientific research institutes. The theme of the Meeting is

4) 9th Annual Meeting of China Foreign Literature Association

th, 2007, the 9
th Annual Meeting of China Foreign Literature Association was convened in SISU with the presence of more than 200 experts and scholars all over China. The theme of the Meeting is
Approaching to Classics. In the exchange election of the Association, Professor Dong Hongchuan from the Center was enrolled as the member. In addition to Professor Lan Renzhe, there are two CFLA members from SISU.
